“Métis are People Who Gather”: Development of a theatre-based knowledge mobilization output
In partnership with Saskatoon Métis Local 126, this research, funded by a Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation Mobilize Truth & Action grant aims to develop a theatre-based production to share knowledge from a research study around the importance of cultural connectedness and social support in health and wellbeing of Métis Peoples. Building on research themes identified through conversations and photos shared by Métis adults in a project funded by a Heart & Stroke and Canadian Institutes of Health Research Early Career Indigenous Women’s Heart and Brain Health Chair, this theatre production will share the ideas and importance of community, family, identity, culture, and land for health and wellbeing of Métis Peoples.
